Here is one that in my opinion is absolutely disgusting. Congratulations to the bleeding heart whiners who do nothing but criticize those in uniform who risk their lives every day to protect human rights and liberty. Apparently, soon our soldiers may be awarded a medal for not doing the job that they signed up to do.
According to the Navy Times our troops may, soon, be receiving a medal for not firing on the enemy. Currently circulating around the Kabul headquarters of the International Security Assistance Force is the plan for a Courageous Restraint Medal. Air Force Lt. Col. Tadd Sholtis had the following to say on the matter- “The idea is consistent with our approach. Our young men and women display remarkable courage every day, including situations where they refrain from using lethal force, even at risk to themselves, in order to prevent possible harm to civilians. In some situations our forces face in Afghanistan, that restraint is an act of discipline and courage not much different than those seen in combat actions”
Wait, What? So let me see if I understand this. To me it seems as though he is saying that our soldiers will allow themselves to be killed rather than risk a civilian casualty? Yeah because the enemy seems to really give a crap about civilians as they use them for human shields because of the bleeding heart leftists that are in charge of the military right now. I will bet that after reading this which was first reported by the Disassociated Press in Afganistan the Islamic terrorists are just laughing their asses off in their caves.
Lt. Col. Sholtis continues “We absolutely support the right of our forces to defend themselves. “Support the right to defend themselves” I wonder if that is in the policy manual? He further said “Valuing restraint in a potentially dangerous situation is not the same thing as denying troops the right to employ lethal force when they determine that it is necessary.” On the rest of this guy’s statement, how is an expectation of “Valuing restraint in a potentially dangerous situation” (i.e. Ahmed al-Kaboom is firing at you) not denying our troops the right to employ lethal force?
I wonder what this retarded medal is going to look like. At first I was thinking that they were going to design it as a Yellow Cross but then I got thinking that if it was some whiny activist would complain about separation of church and state. So I came up with a more feasible design = a medal in the shape of the French flag.
We need to stop this crap and let our soldiers do the damn job we the American Taxpayer, or I should say the 40% of Americans who are tax payers hired them to do and that is protect America. To hell with your touchy feelly crap let them do their job or bring them home. Because these ever increasing whiny liberal rules are going to cost more lives than they save. As is usually the way progressive policies work out.
