Happy Columbus Day Columbia University!!!!

Well now the ultra left leaning crybaby Columbia University has deemed Columbus day as evil which to me is quite funny because, what I think that the PC police at this upscale University seem to forget is that Columbia University is named after the person who they are decrying. Before I start getting shouts that he was a murderer I want to make it very clear I don’t care if he was or not. What he did do was help the beginning of modern colonization on this continent so that crybaby liberal institutions could open, thrive, and then be free to complain about it.

Columbia has now joined a line of other supposedly respectable Universities in the banning of Columbus day. Well banning is not the right word they are just choosing to completely ignore the existence of Columbus day, rather than actually taking a stand on the issue. This is a standard tactic used by the weak spined academic left to ban something without banning it outright. But at Columbia, the only recognition of the day is a free barbecue thrown by the College Republicans, which is not a group that is looked at to favorably on campus.

Derek Turner who is the  director of communications for Columbia’s Republicans had this to say; “We simply want to mark Columbus Day and to celebrate his positive actions and keep the day from silently passing the university by.” He also went on to say that his group does not condone the crimes of Columbus such as spreading disease and slavery to the Native American population.

However it is politically incorrect to point out, so of course I will point out the fact that the various native tribes had practiced slavery for centuries prior to the arrival of Columbus. And as far as the disease thing goes they did not have the medical knowledge that we have today about how disease and viral agents work and spread so I feel that blaming Columbus for intentionally spreading diseases is potentially misguided.

Another of the lefty Universities that has taken a more hard line stance on Columbus day is Brown in Rhode Island which stated that Columbus day is inconsistent with the universities values.  Brown is just following in the footsteps of others like Berkley which rid itself of Columbus day back in 1992 and has replaced it with a politically correct powwow because apparently we are supposed to feel guilty about Columbus or some other politically correct garbage like that.

If Columbus had not accidentally wandered onto this continent then there would be no America. Oh yeah, America just happens to be the number 1 country that fights slavery and human injustices out of all the nations on this planet. America gives $23,530,000,000.00 annually in economic aid throughout the world making us the number one donor globally. We give almost twice as much as the number 2 most generous which is the United Kingdom at $12,460,000,000.00.  That is just in monetary aid that’s not counting all the other aid we freely give in food, medicine and other commodities to help people around the globe even to those countries that hate America and what we stand for.

So in conclusion I would like to give a heart felt HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY. To all the pinko leftists out there.

University of Florida Zombie Preparedness?

And one from the “What if” Folder. In a move that could be disastrous for the student body of the University of Florida in case of disaster. the University has removed its preparedness plan, an exercise which set forth guidelines in case of an attack by Zombies. (Zombie attack PDF) University spokesman Steve Orlando said Friday “The university removed a link to a disaster recovery exercise, which detailed how the school could respond to an outbreak of the undead.” The link was taken down late Thursday afternoon.

This is not ok for the University to do. By removing potentially life saving information from it’s disaster recovery guidelines they are putting the entirety of the student body at risk. By removing this valuable information the faculty of the university are neglecting to give the students the ability to have the necessary paperwork to fill out in case one of their professors or fellow class mates becomes infected by the undead.

Some of the important information that is now being withheld from these students at their peril is:  the understanding of zombie neurobiology. Which as we all know in order to avert a disaster we must understand the element that is causing the disaster.  As it turns out it is not only an unwillingness to ensure safety at the University of Florida but also according to this article the students at Syracuse University also have been denied this important information so they have taken it upon themselves to have a zombie lore class to help educate the unprepared.

Do not pay attention to the zombie advocacy groups like PETZ: People for the Ethical Treatment of Zombies or the Florida Zombie Preserve. They underestimate the power of the draw to eat human brains and try to put a politically correct spin on the danger by saying things like “the term “undead” clearly connotes deficiency; specifically the absence of both life and
death. Hence, we suggest here the term “life impaired” to recognize the difficulties imposed on a former person by zombie behavior spectrum disorder (ZBSD) but without suggesting the former person is somehow “deficient” as a result of the infection.”
by putting that kind of drivel out there puts real breathing people at risk and we as a decent society must disregard what is said by these fringe groups and take these things for what they are. A threat to mankind.

I find it disturbing that our places of higher learning are blatantly disregarding this threat to their students as well as ignoring the very real threat that one day the graves will open and zombies could overrun mankind. So I implore all my readers to watch and study classic as well as contemporary zombie movies and take notes. It could one day save your life if you or your loved ones are ever confronted by the zombie menace.
