Civil Rights: Immigration Just Sign The Guestbook

In this, the second part of my 2 part series on Civil Rights, I will look at immigration. This whole immigration debate is starting to piss me off with groups like La Raza also known as the “Tan Klan” are screaming and putting a lot of money towards opening the borders completely. This idea bad at best and completely foolish at worst. Just the costs that are accrued by illegal immigrants is staggering they use the medical and social services in this country and do not pay into it like the rest of us have to. Not only are they breaking the law by being here but also a whole myriad of other laws such as tax evasion. They get to live their lives doing what any of the rest of us would go to jail for. These people areĀ  illegal not undocumented and the people that try to sugar coat it and say “Undocumented Worker” need to be slapped.

I have no problem with people coming to this country but there needs to be checks and balances. Oh wait we have those, they’re called Immigration Laws. You know those things that people don’t seem to think are important. Now, more than ever, they need to be enforced. With (Because of) an economy that is disastrous due to foolish decisions by all of us, we need to ensure that there are enough jobs for the people here and the people who want to come here legally. Not just let anyone who shows up stay. If you allow illegal immigration when there are not enough jobs, what happens is people turn to crime to survive, just look at Phoenix Arizona. Phoenix has a climbing crime rate due to illegal immigrants supporting the drug trade and other illegal activities. This is due to the Government of Arizona taking a lax approach to immigration. Unfortunately this same story is becoming more and more common through out the border states.

One major hot button that I have been hearing about a lot is “amnesty”. (Insert creepy echo here) Those on the Left are saying that it is a necessary step. Blanket amnesty is a terrible idea. What needs to happen is secure the borders and create a path to citizenship that won’t cost thousands of dollars, but make it so that anyone who wants to become a citizen must pass a background check from their country of origin and be able to speak at least enough English to interact in society. I would not move to a country and not be able to at least speak enough of the language to get by. Here’s an idea if they pass the background check then there is a trial period where if someone got arrested for anything back you go no questions asked and barred from reentry. Those on the Right want them all rounded up and deported. This is just as foolish as blanket amnesty. For example look at the economy of California and other border states. Imagine if you will if one day poof we sent them all home. California’s economy may not survive, plus the increase of cost in goods such as fruits and vegetables which are picked and processed by large numbers of illegal immigrants through out the United States.

I guess what I am trying to get at is: if hardliners on the Left and Right as well as these bull shit special interest groups keep bickering amongst each other instead of coming up with a workable solution to this issue, this issue will never be solved and the problem will persist and grow until somebody grows a pair and stands up and pushes for a workable solution.
