Here we go, just fair warning Feminists, get your hate mail ready. I am a man as you could probably guess by my name white male oppressor and I have a few thoughts. Is feminism really what it used to be back before woman’s suffrage? You know back when it was really fighting for Liberty and the right to vote. I will bet that a large number of women under 40 have no idea what woman’s suffrage was even about. But they sure do complain a lot about equality. Like throwing a stink because they are not allowed into male only organizations and fraternities. But it is okay to have women only groups. When it comes to women in the workplace, I firmly believe that if a woman does the same job as a man she should get the same pay and benefits. But if women out there truly want equal pay and treatment for equal work then they don’t get to ask for special treatment and considerations. That means no more taking a week off of work because you are feeling fragile. If you require a week off every month then you don’t get paid for it. Which means the salaries would be unfair and someone would sue.
If women want to be treated equal they should start acting like it. For example when it comes to jobs like firefighters, I have heard feminist after feminist complain that they try to keep women from becoming firefighters because the physical bar is set to high. Well guess what princess, there is a reason that those physical standards are so high. You have to drag freaking heavy hoses and carry full grown adults out of fires, not to mention carry all of the safety equipment while performing other physically demanding tasks. If they lower the standards just so more women can be hired chances are a lot more people could die for your equality.
However; apparently there are women that can meet those physical standards and from the pictures I have seen they are not big burly galls either. In fact if I was single I would gladly ask most of them out to dinner (there since I may get called a chauvinist for this I might as well throw a chauvinistic comment in) they just worked hard and worked out so they could meet the standards according to articles I have read, women account for about 16 percent of the firefighters in Minneapolis and is expected to grow to 20 percent.
Back in 2004 there was a renewed interest in having women be required to register for the selective service. And of course there was a percentage of Feminist groups that yelled. These women were saying that it was unfair for women to have to register. Once again if you want special consideration based on gender you are not equal. To me it just sounded like the feminists were meaning “we want to be equal, just not that equal.” This tells me that these women( using the term lightly) do not really want equality they just want to play the victim and do what ever they can to force a bastardized form of equality. Called “You have to treat me equal but on my terms”.
One last bit on the equality feminism subject. It is hard not to notice that a lot of the most outspoken feminists don’t have wedding rings? Hmmm wonder why?
